ArtHatch Studios are affordable work spaces for independent artists and small
businesses. With rents on the rise around the county and energy costs the highest in the US dozens of studio complexes have closed and fewer than 200 studios remain in all of San Diego County. ArtHatch remains a bright spot and continues to offer all inclusive studios for low prices. The rents only cover a portion of the overhead. The remaining costs are covered by fundraisers and generous donors and grants.
ArtHatch Teen Program hosts workshops for at risk teens ages 14-19 in Escondido. Additionally, we pair teens with mentors and have a fully stocked, dedicated art studio where teens can create during all gallery hours. Our program has created a safe haven for teens, many of whom have experienced mental health crises after Covid.
Recently, we added in depth 5 week summer programs, taught both in Escondido and San Diego.
